A new hair removal technique based on ultrasonic waves has been developed by scientists in Israel. In this technique ultrasonic waves are used to destroy hair roots. As pigments play no role in the absorption of these waves, the method is as effective on
blond and grey hair, as dark hair. The damage to hair follicles is permanent, which means no re-growth of hair. Also, the procedure is painless. However, this method is not suitable for larger areas as it tackles one hair at a time.
With continuous developments in the field of hair removal, it is getting easier for people to achieve their dream of having smooth hairless skin.
When it comes to permanent hair removal, laser and IPL (intense pulsed light) are the most popular options. Although laser procedure is effective on blond hair, it is even more effective for dark hair. In case of laser hair removal, light emitted by the laser is absorbed by pigments in hair follicle. This impairs the ability of follicle to fabricate hair offering a permanently smooth hairless skin.
